The trick is to make it as simple as possible. For my emergerncy fund I have a certain amount direct deposit to my ING account. Once the bal of my paycheck hits my checking account, then i know it is all for me to pay bills, buy myself stuff, and just do whatever.Tired of being brokehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02026029030939029254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13873500.post-1169084686544099512007-01-17T20:44:00.000-05:002007-01-17T20:44:00.000-05:00Oh, did I mention I am an only child too.Oh, did I mention I am an only child too.Shaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09049949734768494039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13873500.post-1169001094563643452007-01-16T21:31:00.000-05:002007-01-16T21:31:00.000-05:00No money, no problems.KZNo money, no problems.

KZKnockout Zedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16269881581495882209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13873500.post-1168977688054246792007-01-16T15:01:00.000-05:002007-01-16T15:01:00.000-05:00You just described my wife. We finally just had a breaktrhu ( I'm doing the bills from now on) when she realised that most of the issues
we had in our marriage ( quality of life, travelling, romance) all tied into having money to do those things.

saving provides a cushion from the check to check reality of life. it allows you to live and plan for the future.

glad you rounding that curve.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13873500.post-1168830254898848612007-01-14T22:04:00.000-05:002007-01-14T22:04:00.000-05:00Gurl, I lived the opposite way. Not to have her business out there, in many ways her mismanagement of money taught how to hold on to money.

I was partially raised and lived with my grandparents. They let her back in whenever she could not make it on her own, which I see now was good for me but enabled her. They showed me how to manage on whatever you got. My grandfather had a City job when it was considered good living. He managed to raise 5 children, 3 grandchildren and help other family members while maintaining a good home.
He was not rich but some thought he had some dough. When he died 6 years ago my grandma did not have to worry about finances.

So I keep money. I never have been into labels or what others are wearing. My grandma said do the best with what you have and I did. Some may think I am prissy or whatever because I try to keep myself looking good but I am not high post. I have not problem buying from stores others frown on.

Don't beat yourself up though. Remember you are getting your lessons and applying them. LOL. Gurl, many of us had expectations when we got to 40. You are blessed to have a beautiful family/friends who care and support you. That is enough. And as you build yourself back up know that you are truly blessed.Shaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09049949734768494039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13873500.post-1168823026365708402007-01-14T20:03:00.000-05:002007-01-14T20:03:00.000-05:00This post made me smile. :-)One day at a time sis,...This post made me smile. :-)

One day at a time sis, one day at a time...Single Mahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02304629601616898196noreply@blogger.com
